I think half the problem is Hermance could jerk off and ride those sections without a problem. Though they do seem short for pro....

Though short the spool section itself was immensely technical,thanks to mike "redworm" clark.Hermance was definately a WMD himself and visibly better than depicted in the worlds footage.
