Austin people and a bit of Dallas sad news

Im putting together an impromptu bachelor party this weekend. We're going down to Austin/San Marcos/New Braunfels and dont know what to do just yet.

We heard tubing down the river is pretty sweet when accompanied by brews, but I dont know where to go for that exactly. Then of course Schlitterbahn was mentioned, is that any good? Or we all just might go fish/hang out at Lake Travis.

Anyone have any preferred businesses they deal with when going down the river or have any bar suggestions, just any ideas at all?

Oh, and the Dallas news, what the heck, they just shut off Dallas' only hard rock station, 97.1 The Eagle, now it's Sunny 97.1 with a bunch of feel good crap. So sad, I grew up on that station. They played one last song, and just said bye, all the DJs were fired, everything gone, no one is crossing over to other local Clearchannel stations or anything. Ah well, bye KEGL. :(

Schlitterbaun is the #1 park in the USA. I think that would be a lot of fun, but I'm immature like that. Lake Travis? Over rated.

We were going to do that for my bach party. Drink and jump a beater bike. :sonic: But alas, my affliction for games of chance sent us to Shreveport and I spent my nights at the Roulette table. :D

Hey Sonic, I'm from Blanco about 30 miles from the Guadalupe. Your best bet is to tube below the damn- below Canyon Lake, it's where all the college kids hang- more likely to meet girls. You can raft outta Gruene Texas with R&R, or a couple other outfits they'll take a group of 4-6 and a cooler full of beer over some pretty good rapids, or just tube and chill on a different part, one tube spot is the "Horseshoe"- a bend in the river where you can get in, float for a couple-3 hours and come back around a little up the road and it shortens the walk back to the car, tubes for rent right there. Schlitterbahn is waay sweet, LOTS of hot babes, long lines tho in summer, not too bad now I guess. Fishin lake travis and all you'll get is a buzz. Try a guide on Lake Buchanan. You could rent a boat or jet skis on Travis, whatever you do oughtta be a blast. I'd search the web for spots along the river in Gruene TX, I know they have websites. Just dont dive into muddy water and break a neck, happens every year.
