Ok, I know this is a trials-oriented website and I have a lot of respect for all you trials riders out there but I have to put forward the question - do I sell my trials bike or not? I don't use it as often as I'd like to and I never seem to progress when I do ride. I could really use the money I'd get by selling it BUT it's so much fun to ride when I do actually ride it.

I hate to say it but recently I've been enjoying XC/Singletrack/Freeride a lot more than trials. :?

If I were to sell my trials bike what do people think it'd be worth?

Details: (old style) Giant Martin Hawyes frame, generic forks, LX/XT brakes, DMR bashgaurd, Specialized cranks, Hope Big Un/Azonic rear wheel, Hope XC/Mavic front wheel, Hutchinson tyres, DMR bars, Azonic stem, cables, brake blocks, nuts n bolts etc....

Hmmm, i recon you'd get about £300-£400 for that (though condition is everything). As you say you're not progressing, i'd just stick with it as you WILL get better, just it takes practice. And lots of it.

Damn. Dont do it. YOULL BE SORRY. Keep the flame burning. Keep the bike for fun, for you. Make people know youre not a dirtbag who cant do a thing. Practice 10X.

XC is the dark side! but hey, if you enjoy other types of riding, theres no shame in giving it up. you can always get a monty for cheap if you decide to get back into trials. ride on dude!

its really up to you man, to get good at trials in any respectable amount of time, it really takes being on the bike everyday. i spent this entire summer, get out of work at 6, and ride till 8 or 9, every day, cept tuesdays, which i road ride, and it really took all summer, for me to consider my self halfway kinda decent....
