Hey folks, i'm going to put on a outlaw comp this sunday in S.F. There will be beg/sport and expert/pro sections.
No insurance, no entry fees, no problem.
The comp site has rocks of all sizes and a great view of the Golden Gate bridge. It is, however, some what far from the parking lot, so bring a backpack with tubes, tools, and lots of water. We'll be meeting at 11'o'clock at the parking lot above sutro baths, just past the cliffhouse resturant. then we'll head down to the rocks and have a riders meeting and make any changes needed to the sections. I hope to get things started at 12ish. I'll be getting to the spot around nine to set up, let me know if your coming early.

If anyone has any questions, just PM me - Paul

sounds awesome. i can make it, but don't know exactly where to go? maybe make a list of directions so everybody can see? directions from stanford would be fair for everybody i think? thanks! i look forward to meeting you guys out there.

I'm really bad with directions. try mapquest and let me know if that works. I'll have some one who's better at giving directions post some if that doesn't work.

An outlaw comp?... I thought everything was legal in this town.

I'm down and I just talked to Phil Lucero and he's down. I'm still recovering from the worst ball smacking of my life last sunday, so I may be a little hesitant... But hey, what are balls for if you can't give 'em a good smack every once in awhile!

Piss poor directions (but better than Paul's):
Take Geary west until it turns into Point Lobos Ave. At the last light before it turns into the Great Highway take a right and it dead ends in a large parking lot with tourist lookouts (where Paul posted to meet).
Using mapquest, look up directions to 2400 El Camino Del Mar in S.F. This will give you directions and a map to the area, but I think El Camino Del Mar is actually the right turn just before the correct turn off (the map says it is Merrie Way).... But I don't know for sure from the map which one it is... Try Merrie Way first.

If you arrive a little late or have trouble, my cell is 415-828-3840 and I'll have it on me the morning of the comp. Finding the trail down to the rocks can be tricky, maybe I'll try to make some signs if it sounds like a fair amount of out of towners want to attend.

Todd

P.S.
If you are trully a beginner, this area is going to be hard... but well worth the experience!

hm....mapquest isn't working for me. i will try and find geary west somehow. um....by chance do you know how to get there from a specific place? im new to S.F. completely!

On Mapquest, under Address type in:

2400 El Camino Del Mar
San Francisco
CA

Then click the button below to "get directions" from your location.

Combine driving directions with post above and you should be golden.

These rocks make the stanford stuff seem all wide and grippy. Do you have you new bike yet?

Andreas

i hope i don't kill myself tommorow! i will be there by 11 or maybe earlier?

Yup, new bike, but no new skills. I can't even ride comfortably over those rocks, so I'll probably just be observing and getting a feel for the different terrain.

Is there a bus that runs over there from Mountain View/Los Altos/Sunnyvale?

My parents will give me a ride 1 way, but thats it

Edit: found a route but it would take 3 hours 40 min so I'm gonna have to miss this one

Good times. We have video footage of the experts. Hope to get that up online soon. I think technically Casey won, but we kinda stopped keeping score and we also had to skip a section due to a nasty guy sunbathing in a thong at the beginning of it. :barf:

Did you sport guys have any conclusive results?

Thanks again paul!

Andreas
