Oh crap, you DID NOT MISS A FREAKING THING at the car show. This is the worst show in the last 5 years. They had 3 concept cars there, 3, that's it. Pure gayosity if you ask me. The show was just a drag, this was definitely a production car show. And for some reason nothing released was too ground breaking, I cant believe I paid $30 for my wife, bro, and I to get in, plus $8 parking for such a boring show, you definitely made the right decision going home last night.

The Enzo wasnt there this year either.

EDIT: But yeah, I got a few pics, about 40.

hey, sorry i couldnt make it out to the Sat. ride, my mom had a list of things for me to do at the house, so that sucks, and so did the car show, except for the Maybach, that was awesome. ill try to get my video up asap

Sethbomb

Yeah, where are all the pics??? there was only like thirty cameras there.

The Maybach is incredible, we've sold seven or eight in here, and I got a chance to see that thing in Colorado two years ago when they were doing high altitude testing. Sweet sweet car, we recently did a PDI on one and during test drive blew the doors off of a Porche Cayenne.....I wasn't driving.

hey uownme, who did you like the lake?

uownme
03-08-2004, 09:58 AM
uownme=aaron, SETH. I remembered yours but you didnt remember mine. :?

Both places I fell in love with. There was too too many lines. I would live there if I lived in Dallas. Too bad you couldn't make it I was hoping to ride with you.

Copell, you had the pole line on vid right? My brother doesn't believe I pulled it off...

Sethbomb
03-08-2004, 10:23 AM
Aaron, I remembered your name. but didn't want to use it without your permission.
Anyway, Jeff and I will being down in Austin before I leave for Oregon.

Yes he has that on video, did you see my first attempt? It's a pretty sweet wreck!!

Patrick

Pole line?? Need more info.. Need pics asap!

uownme
03-08-2004, 11:54 AM
I was too busy fixing my chain so I didnt see it. I would have like to though!

Patrick, its somewhere downtown there is a little ledge that we played around for a while on. There was a hand rail ontop the ledge with a drop off the rail and ledge after. They pressured me into doing it...

The line Sethbomb is talking about is right by hooters. A small up to a hand rail gap to the other then off. I broke my chain my first try and put a nice dent in my downtube. Sethbomb tried it and also wrecked his first time. I will let him tell you what happeaned.

(I doubt you will remember it, that was not a good description lol)

Damn Sethbomb you are even more polite on the internet. Yes you can say my name also..

I just got back to Granbury, man, that was a long weekend. Im going to extract these pics, crop, size, and post them. Give me some time, but I know if youre a freak like me youll be checking every 5.

Yes, yes, Andrew, the gayness you bring to the board oh so frequently was discussed. Gayness and pole riding was as much a part of our ride as are your nights with men.

Patrick

Kamil, you are back 100%.. There is no escaping it. As Aaron said, you're most likely going to want to go long, but if you simply want a stock frame, I'll sell you my DeSalvo for cheap.

I will check back in 30 minutes!

Patrick, Kamil is mad at forums becuase they have fads. He says the current fad is long bikes. Do you have a 105x5/10 stem that you wanna sell by any chance?

Patrick
03-08-2004, 01:19 PM
aha.. I understand.

I just spoke to Jack and he told me your rail up to drop move was one of the sickest things he's ever seen.. Can't wait to see it on vid.

As for stems, I only have two, both of which I'm keeping for now.
100x5
100x15
sorry man..

Eh, I didnt get too many great pics. Like I told Andrew, I was more interested in riding my new bike than taking pics, so only a few frantic pics, not Matt Lovewell quality this time. Oh, and SEE THE LINKS to online albums at the bottom to see the rest of the pics, Im only posting a few here, I have to go.

"Project Cool" did look pretty sweet in person

Seth almost had it, sure he will next time

Aaron cleared it a few times...

MCall was pretty close himself

While we were out at Grapevine lake my cam must have been left in manual mode, so the pics are grainy

Scott Tucker being the Texarkanan pro he is and making this tree huck, was harder than it looks, but then again, I suck :p

Sean making a gap that was pretty far (see the first photo album from downtown Dallas to see pics of Sean's new WI freewheel and tryall cranks, pretty schmeet setup, well, other than his BB, haha, kept coming loose)

And then welcome to Purgatory, see the link to the movie below that shows a panaroma of the area, it was absolutely AWESOME. I dont know if you can tell, but a lot of these rocks were as wide and long as cars, so sweet. Plus it's all on a serious incline, not the easiest place to ride, but it's not supposed to be right.

Panaroma movie (Quicktime needed):

Craaaaaaaaazy up by Aaron (see the following pic to know why)
http://www.tarleton.edu/~daskins/Pictures/albums/GrapevinePurgatory03-06-04/Dallas-39.jpg

The up Aaron is pulling has this run up, loose rock on it plus pretty steep, steeper than the picture looks. I believe only Kamil and Aaron pulled it, McAll got pretty close

Alright, now for the albums, Ill try to label more pics later:

Should of put this in the Media section I"m thinking, oh well..

Aaron, you look like a young, skinny lenosky.

uownme
03-08-2004, 01:59 PM
Thanks for putting the one up of my facial expression, I was hoping that would have not made the page. hahah

Pictures dont do the rocks justice, that really sucks. Everything was bigger and steeper than it looks. Also, all moves were only cleaned if pulled to rubber. edit#3 lol: Panorama shows the slope of purgatory nicely!

That gap you pulled on the pic looks huge, thats a cool shot.

Thanks for putting the pics up.

edit: DAMN tell the kid with the pitbull to wash his hair.

edit#2: Patrick, does that mean you think I look big and buff? :joshers: :bigthumb:

Patrick
03-08-2004, 02:09 PM
big and buff? nope sorry! you've grown about a foot though.. jesus.

So how was it riding with other people for the first time in 2 years?

Sonic
03-08-2004, 02:11 PM
Ill double post it, Matt can edit what he wants out of this thread. Double up your replies over there if you want. :p

uownme
03-08-2004, 02:18 PM
haha i was hoping for big and buff!

It was crazy there was so many riders. I would have never tried that rail up alone. They all just stared and brought out camera's, so I really had no choice. lol

Much funner riding also, everyone was super cool. Cant wait till the next ride. I am off to the shop for my dx32 front rim, its going to be sick.

aaron,
i'll work on my ups, that way when you are sidehopping stuff i'll just rolling up it (laff).. rolling on a mod...what was i thinking! i got lots of stuff to learn, hopefully some vids come out soon...

aaron, that railing was money! well, since gay is being used for well..gay things, than that railing was def straight.

patrick, i was jk about the longer bikes, i tried that koxx, but the brakes were setup funny and couldn't get a good feel for it...

Matt
03-08-2004, 02:41 PM
Nice pictures Dustin, you should post em in the media section too because most people won't visit this part of the forum. A very cool panorama, I should give that a shot sometime, what are you using to stitch the photos together?

Sonic
03-08-2004, 02:55 PM
Thanks, I did post them in the media section, sheesh, dont you know what's going on on your own forum. :D

Yeah, these panorama movies are awesome. Id tell you what Im using but I have to have at least one advantage over you with the awesome snaps you put out. :p jk, Im using Canon's Photostich 3.1, it's an utility that came with my cam, if you cant get it I can try to burn a copy for you and send it your way. Im not sure if your cam has to have a stitch mode or not, when I do use that mode, it labels the pictures in a certain format for Photostitch to read.
