Who can ride sometime Saturday?

Ive got stuff in the afternoon to do, so if there are any other riders who can brave riding before 2pm give me a shout, Ill be there.

Webcyclery shipped my stuff out yesterday too. Might be here Saturday. :cool:

UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday, and you're even further away than I am from them. They shipped my stuff either Monday or Tuesday, and its scheduled for delivery on Friday. I don't mean to burst your bubble, but didn't want you to have unrealistic expectations either :)

Yeah, I know, just high hopes really, tracking shows that it will be a miracle even if it gets out of Oregon today. I know soooo many people who have worked for UPS and told me how they go about shipping, pretty crappy.

Even if it did arrive I wont have my CK in for another 2 weeks from SpeedGoat, and Im not even going to bother riding it till I have that wheel built up...

unfortunately, i cant ride saturday. Anybody gonna be riding tomorrow (friday)? I've got the day off....

it's about 15 degrees sunny and still snowing...

the lame thing that it's overcast and rainy for days...

at least here in CO the snow is usually dry and light

so it blows away easy and shovels super easy

in PA it's always heavy and wet so it's a huge pain.

old people usually had heart attacks when trying to shovel out

happened to a fella two houses from me. i felt bad cuz i was out clearing drives with my snowblower

and when I came up he said he'd be okay. had a few other guys there helping, so I went to the next house

about an hour later i see the ambulance go down the street

it was for him, and I found out the next day he had died that night

I felt pretty bad about it, but there were a few other guys there so I figured they'd be okay

I will always remember they had cans of stroh's in the snow...

to make things worse the guy was friends with my american lit teacher.

he didn't blame me so it was okay i guess,

but i still wish i had helped them out

there were a bunch of old folks on my street,

i would make so much $$ raking leaves, walking dogs, clearing snow...

at first i felt bad about taking their money

but my dad kept telling me that if i was working for it i shouldn't feel bad

so i got over it and was able to save enough for a new frame

go figure, i was 17 and all i wanted was to ride bikes

i was working at a shop after school so i got deals...

my first whole bike i got was a 16" diamond back apex

before that i had been dumping new parts onto an old schwinn something

i got that from a kid because the front quick release had broken and his parents bought him a new bike instead

i like getting deals like that... got me a newish rim cuz a guy was getting new rims so he was gonna toss the old ones

it was some araya rim, aluminum... so i built it up and proceeded to taco it (i have pics) on the first ride. full taco, it was nice

what made it better was that I was riding in town and some friends drove by and gave me a lift home

so i got another rim, think it was a mavic 217, the old DH rim

but of course that didn't last long either... learning curve was brutal on wheels

i wish i had learned to do everything both ways, left and right side hops, spins, everything. d'oh...

well this makes post 50 for me.. time to enter a contest
