Avid Juicy 7

Just curious if anyone has tried out the new Avid Juicy 7 hydro disk brake. They look like they are gonna be sweet, but just can't force myself to throw down the cash for one until I know whether its any good.

Yo Dave,

I tried them out on a friend's downhill rig and they were as solid on there as any person could ask for. they felt as good if not better on that bike than hayes, shimano, or hopes. these were still prototypes but avid will not release soemthing until they dig it. i would really expect these things to kick ass. if i get the sets i ordered back in the day i will let you give em a squeeze- if they ever ship that is. best thing to do now is to hold off and wait until they are more commonplace and available through more sources. they will be pricey for a bit but competative pricing will drive the cost down fast i think.

i tryed it on my friend down hill bike they were sweet the only bad thing is that he said they take 2 hours to bleed

Ya, if your bleed kit consists of a garden hose and some lego's?:ugh2:

i could do it in 45 minutes with legos and a garden hose. take a real know-how-er to drag it out for two hours.
