Well, I just dusted off my bikes the other day after many years of sitting in the garage, and am excited to get back into riding. I used to ride for hours every day many years ago, but a bike-related wrist injury put me out of commission for a year...which laziness turned into several.
In the worst possible timing, I had ordered all the parts to build my first real trials bike right before I busted my wrist and never got a chance to enjoy it. So years later (last week), I broke out the pretty much unridden bike and quickly caught the trials bug again. Coming from a small frame mountain bike, the new geometry is awkward and will take some getting used to. 'Course Im 50 pounds heavier than when I last rode, so thats not helping. I also think my handlebar/stem configuration needs some working out.
I'm pretty rusty and my forearms are really sore....but I can still manage all the basic techniques, just wobbly and sad compared to where I once was. Oddly, I can do everything considerably better on my old 17" Caloi mtn bike but I'm sure that'll change once I get some good practice time in. I've already begun scouting for palettes and junk to hop on, and I'm sure my landlord will be thrilled.
I look forward to absorbing a ton of info here, and even sharing if I start to learn what I'm talking about :Sonic:
Edit:
bike is a Planet X Zebdi
rigid plan x fork
Maguras
monty rims
geax sedona 1.85/2.25
deore xt hubs, shifter, derail, bb
azonic riser bars
bobo flat stem
powerpro cranks which feel too long (175 i think)
