They both have their advantages. I prefer the constant tension provided by a spring-loaded tensioner (such as the jockey-wheeled one).

If your going with a spring loaded tensioner your going to have to step up to http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/16785-075_YESVT7-3-Parts-382-Chain-Guides/Tensioners/Yess-ETR-Vertical-Single-Speed-Chain-Tensioner.htm
to get any worth while spring tension. For $20 the roller is a safer bet.

Definitely go for the yess, best chain tensioner I have ever used. If you get it, pay the extra money to get the "full suspension" roller, which gives you extra chain wrap, especially if you run a 15t cog. Worth every penny.

i have a nashbar tensioner thats just like the Sette Single Speed Tensioner. its works ok, tho i landed on it and now its hand to get perfect again. im probably gonna get the sette chain tensioner
