im riding a used Monty 221 xlite cesar canas replica now and im not too seriously(but if the price is right ill get one) looking for a newer mod bike that i can become a better rider on. what would be a good next bike? mind that im only in high school working part time so i dont have alot of money. i prefer a 20" mod over any 26" just because ive bent many 26" wheels and ive only dented and scratched my 20" rims and i feel that i get better feel for the section with 20"ers.
thanks in advance.
edit:bad name for this topic.

The X-Lite is not a bad bike at all If all the parts are in good shape I would only replace them as they break.
Any newer mod frames would be an improvement because they have more standover than the older bikes, but you should try other riders mods and determine if a long or short wheelbase frame is better for you.

I actually had the same bike when I began as you. I moved over to a monty 221PR 07. It's a great bike to progress on, and not too expensive. Great step from the x-lite aswell, it has the same geo as the monty 221 TI, which is the follow up from the x-lite. Think that is your best shot.

There is no perfect geo for a person, it's mostly what you prefer.
Almost every 20" trialsbike has high bb rise, so the frame length is the most important bit to make a difference.
Short (monty): Front is easier to lift up, better for bunnyhopping and such.
Long: Front harder to lift up, but better rear wheel balance and front wheel moves.
Good luck on deciding.
