Here, this bike (http://cgi.ebay.com/Monty-X-Alp-219-Magura-edition-trials-bike-bicycle-hs11_W0QQitemZ290251029680QQihZ019QQcategoryZ42314 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
is it any good? its a monty, and it has magura brakes. Its $350, and in fairly good condition from what i see.
Would it be a good starter bike? Is the geometry good? I'd probably end up removing the seat also.

man that thing is mint. for a starter bike i think it's great, and a great deal, better than what i started on and in better shape than what i'm riding now.
p.s. do people in spain/europe really run their brakes backwards? i know they don't on road bikes...

that bike sold for 400 new
$350 is way too much even if it was new in the box.

i wish my bike had a seat and was that clean! the tires look really worn. they look like my xlite front that really needs replacing.

I bet he will get what he is asking for though... there are a lot of new riders out there that are desperate for a cheap bike that don't know any better and that do not have the patience to save up for a better bike. They will be kicking themselves soon enough.

Maybe I'm being a little skeptical, but the fact that he posted this:
"Seat clamp - unknown, don't see any manufacturer's markings on it - I'm sure it is stock"
makes me think that something is fishy. Who posts what make the seat clamp is?
He's just trying to be thorough I would guess?
