wheelbase

This may already have been covered before so sorry for beating a dead horse. But what effect does the differance in wheelbase have on the handling, manuever ability, learning curve of the bike,both stock and mod. Or is it a fit issue? Is there any real facts or will this mostly be answered with opinions, which can be helpfull.
