I'm used to riding a street/urban mtb, I just got a trials specific bike and I am not used to the little amount of air in the tires. It seems when I turn, the tube rolls over the side of the rim. I'm used to running 35-40 psi in my old street bike, I know it is too much for trials, but whats a good psi for me to use on my trials bike?

How much do you weigh? There's no real max, it's just whatever feels good to you while at the same time not hitting your rim when you land.
25psi is a good starting point. Go up or down from there.

i run a little over 20 psi and im 155. but just play around and find what pressure feels best to you and your riding.

I weigh 125 pounds and run 90 psi. Works fine. Ride your bike.

We don't have 2300 posts of experience. We need to know these things..

Danny Mac released a video a while ago on an Echo Pure with a short stem where he schooled every rider on this board with 45 psi. It really is about personal preference.
If you're spinning too slowly and want to spin faster, run more psi.
If you're pinchflatting, run more psi.
If your back hurts, let pressure out.
If you're gapping and the tire is kicking you off the edge well before you've completed your jump, let pressure out. This could also be a technique problem.
A number doesn't mean shit. It depends so much on the tire, on the rim, on the weight of the rider, on how stiff their bike is, on their riding style, and on how hard they jump. Vincent, even though he's smooth and doesn't weigh all that much, runs really high PSI because otherwise he'd flat his tires on the takeoff of his sidehops.

The wider and bigger the rim and tire, the better they will be able to handle low pressure.
Try anything between 12 and 25 psi. I run about 15psi in the back, most people i ride with ride with even less though. I would definitely recommend to ride a low pressure setup over a higher pressure setup any day.

I start my ride at around 50 psi and by the end it is about 30psi (slow leak). I like the higher pressure because there is a bit of distance between spots that I ride and also I pinch alot because I'm a 200 lb jackhammer.

I weigh about 175, ride smooth-ish, try-all tyres and i run about 22psi front and rear.

As my balance improved I found that I can run much less pressure and not have my tire fold, even on off camber stuff. Tire choice makes a big difference as well. I run a Maxis Minion 2.5 DH wire bead tire dual ply and hit rim all day at 25 psi without flatting, on a thinner tire I must run 35-40 psi. I weigh 200 pounds and change my tire pressure up for urban and down for natty by as much as 10 psi. Wider rims, tires and thicker tubes make an impact as well as if your rims are drilled. A drilled rim can take more tire pressure as the air in the tube has someplace to expand. I prefer undrilled rims as I can feel more tire spring for a lighter feeling bike.
I weigh 200lbs and run about 18 front and 20 rear. Roughly.
I actually go by the feel of the tyres rather than psi. I just squeeze the tyre with my hand until it feels right, then I ride and let some out if I need to.

Ok! I think I found the perfect psi for me
I was riding 20 psi today and it's grippy enough, but not folding over the rim.
I might lower it a bit to 18, other than that perfect. Thanks guys!

yeah, my hand is calibrated too. :ugh:
I used to run stupid low pressure. Now I run ~25 and love it. I feel like I can get a bit more 'pop' with more pressure.

It really depends on how you feel the pressure

i go by eye and feel of the ride. i use the same techniques that i use to get the perfect pressure in my trials moto but add a little more air to the bicycle so i dont hit the rims. i tend to kick my rear tire into ledges like i would on my moto.

Agreed, same thing happened here. Like 150 and run 25psi. On stock. Better for taps, sidehops, almost everythings apart gaps maybe.
I remember when I started riding i felt I was smoother with less pressure.:ugh2:

I weigh 155 and run about 18 to 20 psi front and rear. Depends on how old/warn down my tires are.

I weigh between 170 and 180 and run between 18 and 22 psi, usually toward the higher end.
Wow...I feel FAT.
I don't even want to know how squishy my tire is at 45 psi if I could even ride it

I usually run about 25-30. If its raining or i am riding natural, i usually lower it to like 20 or so (nothing to precise, just stab a stick into the valve till it is gripping to my liking.
