Just need to ask...
Does anyone here uses an improvised Fish eyed lens to make a trials pic or vid??
How do you do it or what do you use??
Thanks...

raynox clip on is cheap as dirt and works as well as anything else for web output.

I found plans online to make one from one of the large spyglasses that you put in a door to see who is there, but it didn't work for shit. You couldn't zoom, the auto focus wouldn't jive with it, so you needed to use manual and also the exposure was off (too dark), so you had to adjust that too. Oh and it made everything look like you were watching from inside a tunnel.

edit - but, it was only $6

The one with the door eye piece would work on a point and shoot with a macro function, but not an slr. The only examples I saw were taken with a webcam and were used for kite photography. One serious drawback is the loss of f/stop, or in other words, less light and so longer exposures. Pure crap for sports.

Raynox adapters and Sony ones too will work in a pinch, there is significant loss of edge sharpness, but they are cheap. Also won't work with most slr lenses, but will fit most video cameras.

Oh, I have a .6x sony and raynox that I could let go for reasonable $. I'll dig them out this week (Thursday or Friday) and get the specs on them if you are interested.
