Avid Mech adapters, front or rear?

I assume front.

I am pretty sure the adaptors work front or rear. I used the 6 inch on the front and the 6 and 8 inch on the back.

It is my understanding that a rear adapter is +20 compared to a front. I'm currently using a 160 rear adapter for a 180 front disc.

It is my understanding that a rear adapter is +20 compared to a front. I'm currently using a 160 rear adapter for a 180 front disc.

does this mean, if you use a front 160mm adaptor on the rear, you have to run a 180mm ?
