I think you might be a hack? I have been running the same BB for 2 years now no problems at all :dunno:

Linz, I had the exact same problem....
isn't it true that people will go through bb's faster if they have a bb-shell that isn't well tapped/faced??? I don't think it's your size that's killing the bb's so quickly. My zebdi had a messed up bb-shell, and my bb's would all start wobbling around withing a few weeks (i'm 6'4", 200lbs, sport level rider). I think I tried 2 raceface, and 2 fsa, all with the same issue. I was pretty pissed when this was happening, and as a last ditch resort I pulled out a really old truvativ DH bb - 73x118mm from my old old VPS. I thought I was just throwing shit at the wall, but it didn't have the same problem, and I rode it for a season without problems. In fact, that old truvativ bb is still fine today, but now in my commuter bike. Recently, new bike was tapped and faced at the shop, and I've had the same moe in there for a season without problems. Personally, I'd bet your bb-shell wasn't well setup, and it's causing all the tryall/fsa/raceface style bb's to wobble. I seem to recall this happening before, on this forum, to some of the more economical asian frames. I suggest searching for it, also.
Bottom line: Truvativ lasted for me. I believe it's because their cup design works better with imperfect bb-shells. I'd give that a try before going to bmx or x-type. I bought and returned a 4 bearing truvativ bb that was a 73x128mm. I am not sure they come in 68x128mm... good luck!

You can use a 73x128 on a 68mm shell anyways if you have to. I'm doing it right now, haven't had any issues.

you lose a few mm of FFW clearance running a 73 on a 68.... It'll depend wether or not linz uses FFW...

a lot of 73mm BB's come with a 2.5mm spacer to use for 68mm shells.

Most definitely not a hack.
just weirdly hard on BB's apparently. keep em tight? I'm 6'3" and i haven't had a BB break or wobble other than just being loose in 10 years. i guess we'll see how the Try All goes but I always used cheap arse ones so it should be fine.

yeah Lindsey maybe the SKF bb? heard they are pretty solid.
I've never faced bb shells etc and they last a reasonable amount of time.
How are they failing? cracked spindle or bearings? or is it the cups cracking, the latter will be the result of an unfaced BB shell.
I find FSA platinum DH to last a very long time if the BB is faced.

Truvativ gigapipes are monsters, weigh about 50 pounds...and are exactly what you are looking for.
Goose, the bb shell has been well taped and faced i ride a Frank the welder frame:)
I've consistantly had this prob with all my frames
JDA, the bearing are always going no probs with cups breaking

rats, and I thought we had the same problemo going... Oh well, gigapipe might solve it. Let us know how it holds up. I was considering getting a gigapipe, but the fsa was cheaper, and I haven't had a problem with them... yet.
It will hopefully be a while before i know if the giga is any good but if it beats the 5 month mark ill let ya know:)
p.s i worked out today aprox how many rides the moe bb lasted befor it started to go.
it was only about 25 rides

Just replace the bearings if thats the problem...

Isn't it a huge bitch/almost impossible to replace bearings in a sealed BB? I seem to remember that being the case, although I could be wrong.

just buy a cheap bottom bracket and replace it often.
