Hi, I'm a poor student starting to learn trials. I am going to order a Marino frame, but I will need to build it up with some components. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get trials specialized components for everything on the bike right away, and will need to use spare bike parts/whatever i can find temporarily.
So far, I plan to make a ghetto derailleur chain tensioner and home-made single speed drive-train using an old XC bike I got lying around. I can also re-use the handle-bars, but the rest of it seems too far gone.
What should my priorities be for the order I buy good trials components?

rear wheel, rear tire and rear brake all should be high on your priority list.....

make a WTB post and im sure we cant build you a complete bike for very cheap.....

Check out pricepoint.com also. They have alot of what you'll need for very cheap! I ordered most of my parts from here and got it all for much cheaper than even buying used stuff.

can anyone recommend a good entry level v-brake system?

Anything from Avid is pretty decent. No parallel push mechanisms though. Just get some trials specific brake pads.
