Please, what do you expect when you blatantly try to promote some random accessory with trials. Most of the shit talk is not directed at Shawn's riding, it's directed at the obvious marketing ploy the riding is used for. Had the video been posted without all the commercial references to with it, it would have had a much different response.

As for the Shawn's riding. I thought it was somewhat refreshing in an old-school type way. I know he's a good natural rider, but the riding in this video is straight out of '99 with nothing but awkward rail gaps.

And making empty challenges about some e-video ride off is joke. There are plenty of videos from forum members that far surpass this. You would have been better off playing along with the joke and embracing how cheesy the video is as an advertisement.

Isn't it a good thing that a product manufacturer wanted to feature a trials rider instead of a BMX or skater? On this forum the vid is totally appropriate, its just somebody riding. if you go to the web site then you see that its part of the product promotion.

every single TRA vid is promotion for his sponsor, nobody seems to care about that.
this video promotion for the istick (could be anything for that matter) helps to bring trials into view of many more people, and while to us the vid is just average to non riders it must be very impressive and amazing.

I haven't commented on this vid yet because I thought it was the most pointless advertising stunt ever. Just watching a video is no going to make me look at a web page, unless it has awesomeness thrown about all over it. This does not. And as TRA rightly stated, he doesn't get shit, and his vids do have awesomeness all over them.

Personally, I like that trials currently is filled with people who ACTUALLY care about the sport, not looking cool while riding with the next best product. There is a very small amount of douchebags in this sport (mostly concentrated in the UK) and if more of this type of poor and blatant advertising goes on, this level will increase dramatically.

Andrew's post, while not being the most mature was funny because he actually DOES have contacts at Nike, COULD make something happen, but realises that ultimately it is a worthless avenue.
