I hear creaking when I pedal hard. I feel some play in the bottom bracket when get off the big and tug/push on the cranks. I know I have a FSA Platinuum Pro and the cranks have been tightened with a crank wrench.
1. Could I still practise riding up/down stairs for the time being?
2. What's going on, and is it worth the $$$ to get it fixed?
Thanks in advance.
First try to tighten the BB cups with a BB tool.
Then tighten your cranks, then tighten your pedals.
If its still creaking, keep riding until it breaks or gets pretty bad. Then get a new one. Not worth fixing.

When I worked at the LBS we had a ton of people bring their bikes in for that reason. Turned out to be that the BB needed to be pulled and regreased and then torqued properly. Then no creaky! So I would get some grease on that bad boy! And if you can feel that the BB is loose in the frame I would NOT ride it until you get it greased and tight cause it can start to wollow? out the threads on the frame and cause major damage...

Hey, thanks for your input. I do have a bottom bracket tool so ill follow your instructions. Just one question:
What does it mean to be torqued properly?

Exactly. I actually never have "torqued" any of mine. Just make sure they are tight!

my bike was creeking and such and I thought it was the bb. it turned out the outer ring thing on the frewhhel streched and that is were the noise was coming from. Just something to check out if its not actually the bb
