drove out of town with a couple mates to a place called Mt Somers, there's a creek/river full of rocks. the pics are all pretty average due to us having not ridden any natural in months, and the camera didn't really allow many action shots. nevertheless it was an awesome ride :bigthumb:

Andrew on the slippery rocks. moss + damp = almost ice...

sequence. i'm sure it would be better with a camera that could take more than one photo every 2 seconds:

Say hi to Raj and tell him to keep riding!
Bummer Tim and co are too lazy to make it down, they will miss a great comp and a wicked place to ride for sure. I want to see some pics of the place now, and seeing as I know John will be too busy, maybe you could snap a few for a homesick homie ;)

You might be disappointed to hear, Mike, but we have had to do a venue change for the comp because the pony nationals are on at the 88 valley site on the saturday. Fortunately we have another site. Unfortunately it means that I will be spendind every spare moment between now and then cleaning it up enough to get about 6 good sections in. Best thing though is that it is only 5mins from town and a very popular mountainbike track runs straight past it so we should get some spectators along and hopefully a few on the day entries.

No worries though, the Sunday Funday is still going ahead as planned at the 88 valley site.

And we've booked a venue for a video/social night on the saturday.

And the tides are good for a Friday afternoon jam at cable bay for any early arrivers (once I've taped everything up)

With luck I might even get in some training before now and then!!

What?! You've just been to koxxdays!

The venue has nothing on 88 valley and I definitely have my work cut out but it will be fun all the same.

Aparently Rob Ward is coming up to have a go, too. Need to find some rocks for him!

Koxx Days was full of Brits and French. I miss the laidback scene at home and the peeps, not the rocks etc ;)

Awesome shots!! That place looks like so much fun to ride. Rivers with rocks seem always seem to have great riding. The second to last pic looks great!

AgrAde

all he had was a frame and nothing to build it up. i think he was hatin' on it because it had no seat and none of his parts would fit :(

hopefully he gets something sorted.

Chur - awesome, thanks, badass. Maori slang for cheers, also meaning something cool if said like "chuuuuurrrrrr". Said like "chur bro", means thanks homeslice etc.

Nice pics Kiwi, that's the river spot just down the road from Andrew's farm isn't it??

Just incase it comes up in the next pub quiz...

Chur- I always spell it cher, but who knows. Originated from none other than Sir Howard Morrison (singer and uncle of Temuera Morrison, the worlds worst ever actor and New Zealand's 3rd finest export ((after Flight of the Conchords at no. 1 and stikman at 2!)))

Haha,

A - I'm not badass enough to be called badass, but I do get balls deep on occasion.

B - I'm ashamed to be named along with Howard Morrison as an eport, haha.

Yeah thats pretty much what chur means. Stickmans onto it. Its not so much a 'badass' thing though. Used quite often in palmy. lol. Has the same meaning as thanks or sweet. Used like this. person 1 "heres the beers you wanted" person 2 "oh chur". Or something.

Yeah its on andrews farm. Just down the road from K-loop.
