Well Im planning to buy an Adamant A1 but the guys on pinkbike tell me Im getting jipped. The asking price is 850 and this will be my first bike. The nice thing is I dont have to pay shipping as the bike is local. But what is your opinions. The Hubs are shamano, New headset, new Maxxis high rollers, 50/50 pedals.
He offered to grind the rear wheel for me if I wanted. I am demoing the bike tommarrow. He says he will bring his bike also so ii can feel the differance between grinded nad not grinded wheels.

sounds like a fair price to me if the bike is as mint as it looks in the photos. you can add up how much the stuff on the bike is worth new and decide for yourself :dunno:. what rear hub is on there?

Trek used to have Chris Clark back in the day....I believe someone is still riding for them?

the hubs are pretty bad when it comes to trials. but this is your first bike so i guess its ok. but in the future thats definitely the first thing your gonna wanna upgrade. the rear hub. a shimano deore just wont cut it for trials. looks good to me besides that

seems like an ok deal but i would just try to talk the bikes price down a bit more before buying it because i got my adamant with echo rims and trials hubs and such for $750 which i thought was reasonable. Solid looking bike though.
Components are ok...I wouldn't pay $850 though. Maybe $750 tops.

word, wayy wayyy wayyyyyyyy better, and not just cause i know the guy. a much safer ride. frame used to be mine, mint condition cause he barely rode it. otherwise id say buy that other bike sans rear wheel for 100 less, and buy used king/pro trial.
my five sense.

Shipping a bike is crazy expensive (I think). To ship dura ace cranks to Austraila cost $45 for ten day shipping.

or back to chrisB's post
http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/showthread.php?t=34612 it's been bumped to 675... say 200 for shipping which is about right, you're still getting way better parts for less than the asking price of that overpriced A1
you've been mia, so i hope you didn't shell out 850 to what's his name...

I did buy the bike for 800. Its a great bike. I got it today. Im always worried to buy something from someone you dont know.
The bike you are showing me is all mechanical brakes. I got a louise magura fr brake up front and a magura rim brake the H# in the limited edition white in the rear. I feel like I got a great deal on the bike.
The seller joined me for a 2.5 hour ride today to teach me the basics. It was a great ride. I learned alot.

Yeah, Shimano rear hub will die quick.
I've never had a Shimano hub not skip.
My current one on my Norco Sasquatch is pretty much dead and It has been used for like 3 months. Saving for a King I hope.

they told you you're getting jipped because you are getting jipped. sorry that you already got the bike but as long as you're happy and riding it its all good.
