Formula "The One"

Has anyone considered running "The One" as a trials disc? I have been looking into them for my DH bike and they seem to have a lot of the same plusses that the Hope Trial brake did. Simple oversized dual piston brake with lots of modulation and endless power according to those who have ridden them. Might be an option??

Ali has one - it's very good when it works but it's pretty temperamental... I think changing the rotor might help as the pads seem to glaze easily at the moment. I'm sure Ali will chip in with more info at some point :)

I look forward to it. I think that it would be odd to have the pads glaze over riding trials when it is designed for DH. I rode the Mono Trial from Hope for a while and was quite happy with them. I had issues with them leaking a bit but the performance (when they weren't leaking haha) was incredible. I had thought about running them on my DH bike actually...

I think it's due to the lack of speed not scrubbing the pads efficiently...

Where did your Mono Trial leak from? I've only ever seen a handful do that so you've been unlucky!

They're not recommended for anything other than trials as far as I know, although the Moto brakes have the same piston ratios...

I had 2 of 3 leak at the fitting on the caliper actually. They were all torqued correctly as well. Only one leaked bad enough for me to send it in. The other leaked so slowly that it would take a couple months of riding before it became a problem. I didn't want to go through the down time of not riding so I would just top off the fluid and go again. There is no doubt in my mind that hope would have taken care of me and I still 100% recommend the brake. I am guessing I had some of the earlier runs. I also don't think they are recommended for anything but trials.... they just felt that good. Haha
