The Meta stock cranks seem rediculously burly on my bike. Stiffish I guess from what I have ridden. Too soon yet to really say, but they seem good so far.

i recently swapped out my tensiles and put a set of metas on my bike. initially i didn't like the look of them (i thought they looked too beefy), but now that i have had them on the bike a while i think they look pretty bad-ass. they are super stiff, and i'd imagine they will be damn-near unbreakable (especially with the splined pedal insert). oh yeah, you for sure can't beat the price when you consider the strength of the cranks. my $.02

Just going from pictures, aside from the pedal inserts and bash, they look simular to the BT's that I have now that are bent on the drive side crank arm. I have not seen to much info about em. Thinking about getting a set but wanted to hear from the masses first.
The Meta cranks are a very good value. Press-fit inserts so it is impossible to strip out the pedal threads, and the freewheel threads are reinforced with a brass insert. The arms are nearly indestructable. I have not seen a single problem with these cranks.

Did you double check your BB axle? I thought that I had somewhat bent BT cranks, but after using a new BB, it seemed that the cranks were alright and the old BB axle was twisted.

It's the crank arm, BB is fine, wish it was that easy.
They have held up well considering I have beat the shit out of them.

Get some burns then?Meh... had a brand new pair of super pro's that I was waiting to put on a new frame lastyear.. needed money so I ended up selling them. Kicking myself in the ass now. Prolly going with tensile's, I hear the pedal insert's on the Meta's have a tendency to come loose.

tryall or echo cnc? tryall is lighter, echo is cheaper. both last longer than tensiles from what I hear
You ride bikes?!
Seriously that white Simtra handlebar is still in my car! And if you need a front wheel (Rynolite disc) it's yours for free.

So far I have no complaints about my Meta cranks. They never creak, or come loose.
They're not nearly as stiff as tryalls but they are very good cranks.

lolerz,.. you keep that in there as a weapon aki?
It's not possible for the inserts on the Meta cranks to come loose unless the pedals are really, really loose. The insert is press fit from the back of the crankarm, and the pedal comes through the front of the crank and holds everything tight through a steel pedal washer. Just keep the pedals tight and you won't have any problems.

metas are awesome cranks for the money, but the tensiles are a bit stiffer, and quite a bit lighter. I didn't have any problems with the thread inserts on my meta cranks.

Tensile's are sweet. I have had a set for two years and they have held up great... and yes, I actually ride my bike. I'm only 150 pounds and pretty easy on my bikes, though... talk to Hugo at hbtrials.com.

The meta cranks look like the BT cranks, hope they are not the same. My BT cranks snapped after a bit more than a year.

Guess I should clean off the blood stains :momaru:

I heard that the bt cranks are the exact same as the meta's (made by the same people).
I decided to go with the echo cnc's since i heard they have a bigger 'Q factor" or whatever its called since i had fitment issues with other cranks, they seem to be really stiff even though im just at a beginers skill level.
