I've never tried riding in running shoes. Buddy of mine loves them. I've always just riden in flat bottom skate style shoes.

it was pretty bad, unfortunately most of my shin is scartissue from years of trials and dh before that. so even stitching it up was a mission for the doc. but anyways im sure some ppl will av had worse whatever.. its not a competition lol. Iv had a skingraft on my leg bout 4years back, it missed it by about half an inch! luckily!!

Some running shoes aren't bad for trials. Ive actually found them to work out better than some of the stiff-soled skate shoes.

Been there, done that, no fun. I got shin pads afterwards and I've liked them. I wear pretty grippy skate shoes, use decent pedals, yet my shin pads have saved me more than once. Maybe I just have a horrible technique that isn't conducive to my feet staying on the pedals :dunno:
