That bar feels great. You have to make sure you have them positioned in the right spot though. When i put them on my old mod I had them abit more forward, and when I did a big up it kinda pinches nerves in your hand. So i adjusted and its all good.
The disc's might add an extra pound or so, but the weight of the frame is more than a Simtra so i'm sure that is where its coming from.
I dont think 24lbs is a tank. It's just that a lot bikes posted on here are around the 20lb mark, and mods are usually lighter than mine.

how is the friction in those jagwire housings? I thought about going for them...

Those are not the jagwire housing, are they? they look like the avid/sram housing.
I run the jagwire housing, the teflon coated cable ones, and they are great for what you pay for. I run v on the back, and have found that, unless you go for nokon or jagwire, all the other housing are too flexy. Jagwire is perfect, just the the housing is stiff to the max!
The teflon coated ones = uber smooothhh, but once the teflon wear out, which'll take about half year to a year, then it feel "normal".

The Jagwire housing is awesome. It's the compressionless stuff. I think a kit is around $30 bucks. Definately worth it.

i think the discs contribute a lot to the 24 lbs.
BB7 calipers are significantly heavier than hydraulic calipers.
I use Odyssey linear slics and don't particularly like them. If I squeeze the levers really hard with two fingers the housing seems to compress for a while and takes a few seconds to return to normal. Also some of the inner wires have ruptured through the lining. Cheap wound housing seems to have worked better.
