I know this was beat to death, but I am looking for specific parameters

around 600g
medium compound
not more than 2.2 in size

But seriously... check out the panaracer fire xc pro. Fits your requirements pretty good and its a pretty decent tire.

Ok, if you guys don't like to go too retro you can always try a Maxxis ADvantage (it came out in 2005:greddy: ). Its again about the same parameter and I found it to be sticker than the panaracer.

im running a 2.1 stick-e kenda nevagal with folding bead. under 600g i think? it was cheap

Thanks, I'll look into kenda and schwable. I tried the panaracer on Andy's bike and didn't like it at all. But then again he had a lot of pressure in it.

ive tried the schwable on other people's bikes, and it doesnt seem as grippy as the kenda. it is a bit lighter though

So, out of convenience I threw on a Continental Vertical Pro. I've been in some really sketchy situations (haven't we all..) where I expected the front to slip out, but it stayed glued. It turns out that Continental has a 'tackier' version, too. The other benefit is they're usually stocked at your local bike shop.

Just another I'd add to your list of possibilities.

try-all front or maxxis single ply minion dhf in SR or ST. are my fave. i rock a panaracer firexc now, its hella gay
