So I've spent the past few weekends piecing together a small trials area in my backyard.
I'm happy with most of it for now, plenty of different lines to take that will hold me and my skill level over for a while. I will be adding things as time goes on.
Also, just found a decent section of rocks next to a creek thats only 500ft away from my house, i'll post pics sometime.
So now I should be able to ride as much as I've been wanting to during the weekdays! :werd:
Some pics of my new playground.......

Very cool. I miss the days when I could go to my backyard and mess around for awhile. Some of those beams/poles would be real tough wet.

Sweet set up. I wish I had my own property to build something like that. I've been thinking about moving the one set up that I built a while back closer to where I live now cause all the pieces are still in the woods where I left them. (tons of pallets, huge spools, tires and long 6x6 poles.)

Yeah, thats why I figured I'd throw a few pieces of left over shingles I had on all the beams

If you end up painting it, you could put on some of that ceiling/floor grit (I forget what its called specifically). Basically you put down a layer of paint, throw this stuff on all the surfaces you plan to ride, and then repaint over it. Gives it texture much like shingles.
With that said, you'll actually improve a lot more if you don't have any shingles/grit on your stuff. Teaches you to be a lot more careful with wheel placement and really square yourself up on obstacles.

Looks good. Ever considered getting large boulders for the lawn as a "rock garden"? I wonder how that would work in the communities that are uptight about the house/lawn appearance.

I would love to but this is a much cheaper alternative.
Also I just found a nice little natural section of rocks 500ft away from my backyard. So I've got the best of both world right next to me.

Pictars? I would really appreciate to see how it looks. Also it would be interesting to find out the price range.

Looks like Dang! deleted the photos, but I'm sure he would be able to upload them again. I only have a couple pics from when we were setting it up... see below
As far as cost... a trade for a table custom built in a traditional Japanese rustic design. sweat equity I guess.
if I was to guess at the actual cost...
The street drug ROCK goes for @ $250.00 a ton (each one of those rocks weighed from .5 to 1.5 tons) plus delivery.
Rental of a mini @ $750.00 a day
Ability to operate the mini... priceless! (I just happen to be a licensed operator)
