Crap, I didn't realize Racoon Rally was the same weekend.
Not sure if it's possible, but I might try to move it to the Saturday before (June 21st).

I would like to do both, but if they end up being on the same weekend, I'll choose this one. It would be best if one or the other was the week before, so that they don't hurt eachother's turnout.

Yeah, I totally agree. I'd hate to conflict with another event, and have riders have to choose one to go to, since there aren't enough comps going on in the first place. I'm gonna see what I can do about changing the date.

I know it's already been said, but I wouldn't be able to make both events either and would have to choose Racoon Rally just because it is closer. I would like to go to this one since I was unable to go last year.
On a side note - There is a competition on June 22 for the Dirt Spanker Trials Comp in Superior WI. (if that accounts for any date planning)
Not trying to sound like I'm complaining cause I appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting on an event, but is there any way we can spread out some of these comps? They all seem to be in June and July this season. I can't afford to go to back to back competitions ecspecially where I have to travel so far to most of them.

It would be nice if they were spread out more, but there are lots of things dictating dates....city, land managers, my job(and when I can take vacation to put a comp on), seasonal weather, local & regional bike events.
To be honest, I'm not worried about finding a date that is best for everyone in the country. While I would like all the pros and regular competitors to come, it is more important for me to get more new people (that typically come from the mtb world) to come out. I really think this is the key to growing our sport...making it available to the high school kid that can't travel states away to give something he may/or may not like a try.
It's better to have a comp and some people not be able to make it than to not have a comp at all. Anyway, I'm rambling and I need another PBR, so cheers!

How are the water levels? And that's cool to hear you found a new spot.
dkeller

The water level is about the same as last year. I'm surprised it's not any higher.
Apparently it had been higher at some point in the year...I found a gigantic catfish stuck between some rocks in some really shallow water.
It scared the crap out of me. I was hopping along and suddenly heard flopping around in the water next to me.
I talked to some dude out fishing and told him about it, he got really excited and went and got his net to grab it. That fish was nasty as hell! It was probably around 3.5 feet long. He kept saying "Brandi can't get mad at me today, yeah, yeah!" I guess he had scored dinner for them...hahaha!

It was an excellent time, is Tim Moore the same who had this (http://members.aol.com/HHTRIALS/index2.html) web page from 1999?
I think Lance was busy as a forearm model for the new Hulk movie.
