I wanted to see how light I could go without getting freaky. I knew if I eliminated most of the machined parts it would be good, I thought less but whatever. . I had to make the chainstays 395 to go tube (and they are just a bit tight on the tire) so I went up to 30+ on the BB height. the WB is 1080. the weight is 1544 G.

That is a work of art! I would love to ride one, but I'm with Andrew on this as well. I need something with a little spring to it. Which is why I decided on a diffrent frame this spring.

Unfortunately my partying catches up with me...I can't ride hard every day and not sleep/drink as I do and feel good in the morning if I ride a bike that doesn't give a little.

I don't really know what to do with it. I think it would last for a while but not forever. I put decent seat stays so the brakes will work but I didn't have any more maggie mounts so it got cantis. not for the guy who likes to spend all day bouncing on the front wheel.

1544 gram = 3.403 937 328 368 pound
grams are for selling cocaine.
At the rate I'm riding, I could make that frame last for ten years... I'd want a longer wheelbase though...

can u make the stays shorter with a bb yoke? Looks much better than the other frame IMO. How much for one wit custom geo?

I like that frame. Its a nice simple design. If you could make the stays 385, with that weight and other geo. I'm sure you could sell those as well.....But I'm sure you have your hands full with the other frame.
Anything you build is a work of art. I have my Spooky frame hanging up in my house!

Second being the grease stains on her black shirt that are more then likely from a bag of lays chips, or something of the sort, that she was indulging in. Probably eating away her sorrows

83 or 100mm BB shell = stays as short as you like and still plenty light. Less tube manipulation and massive tire clearance as well. Just a thought.

But then you would have to goto a 150mm rear hub to allow there to be a realistic chainline.

well, I post the actual weight of the frame and it's as light as could be. I could not build one with any more machined parts to hit that weight. I had to make the chainstays that length to skip the machined parts (and hit the weight) I could however change all the other dims.
I could build a frame with a WTF lower yoke and drops to any dimensions that would last a long time and weigh around 4.3 lbs and "typical" flex.
Trauma is next in line for a treat. do you want this or something else? .. this machine is pretty one-dimensional.
may be we should just pass it around and mistreat it... the frame I mean.. who can use canti's and a too small tire? (must already own drilled helmet)
who is a weight frrreak?.
I love my tan bike, I am not going to ride this.

I have been over the BB issue from every direction.. we are stuck with 68 for a while if we are going to use a FFW

I really like the seat tube on that bad boy.
I think the front end of this and enough machined parts from the WTF frame to make the back end a bit shorter, and you'd be onto a winner.

yeah it's good that you sucked it up and squished the seat tube for maximum weld contact, knowing it would never have a seatpost in it.

Nope.
Desalvo did this with his steel trials frames and the chainline was no different than standard 68 with a 127bb. Just run the numbers differently with a narrower bb spindle. I think mine was an 80 with 118 and it was a dead nutz straight chainline.
The only problem is availability of 80 or 100mm BB's Haven't looked at a parts catalog in a while.
Edit: just saw the FFW reference,.. yea I was using a 22t at the time. I see.
