I've never seen something like this before, what a great idea!

Those are really crappy ideas compared to the one's i've seen. The chain will probably just get slack when you put pressure on your drivetrain. Maybe the first idea might work if it had a spring.

Yes, it's the final solution
Because you'll die running one

First one is a v-brake arm, and those usually have springs....
It might work ok, never thought of that. Either way, tensioners like that aren't very exensive.

Or maybe my school computers are retarded? Those tensioners look half-assed to me. But I'm sure they work just fine.

but there is no way to control or adjust the lateral motion of the tensioner with those..
I doubt they will work, more likely they will push your chain off the cog when you pedal hard for a big tap or a big pedal gap or something...

Will they work?
I think they are working.
My ghetto tensioner has dropped the chain four times in a few months, but that is just because my frame flexes so much. These will probably drop the chain occasionally from flexing, still better than a der. hanger, which is why I dont like the first one.

didn't hitler have a final solution?

zyklon b isn't very effective for increasing chain wrap, though
