I went for a ride at Settler's Common in Armadale yesterday.

I expected that it would just be a network of walking trails with little of interest but I was very pleasantly surprised to find some rutted out loose rock tracks that were a blast to bomb down. This is about 2/3's up the track going into the valley, it isn't the best one either, there's about 25 minutes of pushing on the other side to get to the Canns Rd end of the Common. Even with my inertia I still had to put the leg out in the bends.

I also learned to not stand in one spot for too long as I found a couple of bull ants in my shoe & several in my shin pads along with something that looked like this gorgeous little fellow who was trying to chew the neoprene instead of my skin:

There's plenty of rocks to pique the interest of Trials riders, (I would have taken better photos but the snakes & ticks issue arose again):

I wouldn't mind bringing the Bionic in for a hop at some stage. Bring plenty of insect repellant & water if you're interested.
