G'day everyone. I'm going to give trials a go as a fun way to improve my fitness. I was looking at trialshive and I see a frame called Bionic at only $330 and thought it would do as an entry into the sport. I've been practicing the basics of improving my balance such as trackstand, pivots, rocking, etc. on my STP but thought I'd get a bit more serious. So, the Bionic, what do all of you think? Cheers.

For $330 you can't go wrong..... Even if it only lasts a year you have gotten value out of it..... And you are a beginner so you won't be breaking frames in a hurry.....

Hey Coops, although I've never seen one of these frames in the flesh I think the geometry is very good, just can't comment on build quality, but it will be as good as anything from China I'd say.

- With rear disk mount

Specs:
Wheelbase: 1075
Chainstay: 385
BB: 30
Head angle:72
Price: $330 AUD

I agree with you guys. For the dough it can't hurt to give it a go. It will give me a feel for trials and help me work out what I would like in a bike when I make it to a higher level further down the track. I shot an email off to trialshive to see if they have them in stock. Hopefully I'll give myself a cool Chrissy present.

The B1 only comes in one size, I'm 5'10" & it's fine for me but you might want to check first to see if it will suit your height.

Dont worry about frame length for now. Just grab a bike and get riding, any modern frame will be fine to ride no matter what.

bionic looks fine... but anything with rigid fork will be an improvement on what your riding now.

for the money the bionic looks a good choice

Thanks for the comments. I'm 6 ft so there won't be a big issue there. I've already got a Surly 1x1 rigid fork on the STP anyway. Nice and light, don't know about strength though. I just picked up my new wheel build today. Hope Pro II and Echo rims. Frame next and then some cranks. Time for me to go and practice. :)

Well, it looks like the Bionic is out of stock and will be a month or so away, maybe longer. I really want a trials frame soon. Does anyone want to offload a frame, or know of someone else who sells frames. The frames that trialshive have in stock are a bit more than I wanted to spend. I'm looking at spending up to $400. Cheers.

edit: By the way, I'm after a stock frame.

EDIT: You're still sniffing around the Trials site so I reckon you'll be riding again ;)

Ya hopefully. I've only ridden the STP twice so far, lol. Don't really have much time to ride, damn work and TAFE, not to mention wife and kids! Oh well, someday maybe.
