About a year ago my friend sold his $1300 mountain bike to me for a sweet deal because he is having some money issues. Now he really misses it, but I don't have an extra bike or money to help him get back to riding again. So I am trying to help him find another bike that will get him back into it. Anyone selling a 17" mountain bike in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton, Texas area for $300-700 please let me know. He would love something nicer, but doesn't have the budget he used to. I have checked the used sections of many bike shops, but they are all trying to make too much profit. I find that buying from an individual is the best way to get a good deal. He is pretty short so a 17" frame would be perfect. Hardtail would best fit his budget. He wants a recognized manufacturer also, so no one-off brands that a decent bike shop wouldn't sell.
