Only changes to the stock spec is a 2007 XT crankset

Just race more. It gets fun. I notice your from Wisconsin.... do you race the WORS series? I'm going to be running more of it next year along with a good portion of the D.IN.O races. Just figured I'd toss it into your thread. To anyone else looking for a XC rig..... race. You don't even need to be good. It's fun as hell.

yeah, my plate is full with collegiate road and BMX racing this year. Can't spare the time to XC race and I feel their a waste of time/money, at leastWORS was. Pay $25 to ride a bike for an hour. Woo.

Where do you race Collegiate for? I raced for U of I this past year and the year before. I am taking some classes at the community college down here (hell of a lot cheaper) and then going back to U of I. The only downside is that I can't race collegiate. When I go back I will race road and mountain, not just mountain. -Consider these free bumps.

What category do you race? I haven't raced road and am about the middle-ish of B's in Mountain. I would like to be an A rider by the time I get back to U of I.
