Is that the right amount of spacers (between the brake and the adapter)? I don't have one with me to compare to, but that looks strange to me.

If youre going to run a 6" adapter with an 8" rotor......its the right amount.

Yeah, but using a bunch of washers to mate a 160mm adapter with a 203 rotor isn't the best solution.

In portugese (i think), for your convenience:

bed the pads in with water. spray some water on the rotor/caliper, pedal around dragging the brake until it stops squealing from being wet, repeat half a dozen times or until you like it.

Pour water on it and do some long slow stops from high speed. This will help break it in faster.

edit: damn, beat by dengenerate.

You must be stoked with the downhill hawk tyre, hows it treating you?

Yup, get it locking real well so the shear forces will snap those bolts a lot faster. Since you added all the weight of the spacers and big rotor maybe use aluminum bolts while you are at it. I'm a big fan on ghetto rigging and all, but that one has bad news written all over it. Hope it breaks when you are in a safe position.

i put an avid bb with 185mm rotor on my xc bike that had a manitou sx fork that i couldn't find an adapter for, so i made spacers that were just drilled aluminum rod that i stuck the bolts through (which is still better than a washer stack). i rode it pretty hard including some light trials and it never broke. which surprised me bc i knew it was only a matter of when.

biketrialbrasil, tell everyone that's a temporary setup before they're scared away from your frames.

Nice.

I know you said you have a 203 adapter coming, but be careful riding with those spacers. I did that to run a 185 rotor on a 6 inch adapter and broke the caliper in a matter of weeks. I think they flex a lot like that.

By the way, what rotor is that?

You must be stoked with the downhill hawk tyre, hows it treating you?I like this tyre, but itīs a little heavy for front, soon iīll change it for new lighter one.
