I'm selling this frame because its too long for me, when taking the BB out I managed to strip the threads on the drive side. This can be repaired through Gripsport see here (http://www.gripsport.com.au/main.php?part=products&prodID=43). Alternativley the BB that came out can be put back in with locitite 680 (http://68.72.74.116/PRODUCTS/680.htm) bearing retainer which I believe will hold it for a very long time as the BB still feels tight going back in.

The frame is about 3 months old and is otherwise in excellent condition, however because of the BB shell damage I am selling it at the very low price of $200, its a bargain for such an expensive frame.

Full details of this frame can be found here. (http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=61)

wow, that bb shell looks a hell of a lot better than the bb shell on my old bike - i didnt use anything on that to put it in, just alot of time and effort.

I am a little tempted by this. Was very nice to ride the other night Joel.

How much for the frame and BB that came out of it?

I bought the frame off Joel after he put the BB back in with Locktite 680 and it started to move after the first short ride and by the 3rd it was completed out. So off the Gripsport it went.

Here is the result.

Haven't actually put the BB back in yet, so haven't checked the threads line up but all in all in looks good. when the BB is in the only thing you will see is the two pins in the shell.

I am a bit surprised (and a little concerned) about how much material has been machined out of the BB shell but Gripsport say they have done this many times so it shouldn'tbe a problem. As for service/repair time, it took 6 working days (from the time I posted it to getting the frame back) which I think is amazing and Gripsport were a pleasure to deal with.

Looks good Gaz, I'm sure if Grip puts his name behind it then it will be fine.

Yeah, I think anyone in the trials or mountainbiking scene will swear by Gripsport's work. Jon really knows his stuff and has a lot of experience.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I wont pretend that we're perfect, but overall we haven't had many repairs go belly up on us (about 12 out of 4000+ at last count), and we've certainly never had a BB thread replacement fail on us.

But of course trials bikes do tend to get the sh#t beaten out of them more than the average frame... so I'd love to know how this one has held up.
