Is this rim wide enough to use as rearwheel on a BT5.0?
In regards to rear brakes making the reach.

I dont know if it is wide enough or not, but I just got a big fat mammoth (29.5 wide) and put it on the front of my jack flash. It doesnt hold a grind, and I would be worried about pinch flats if it were on the rear. If you havent bought it yet, Id go fro at least a dx32. Durkie sells them for a good price.

Thanks for the replys,
I wonder if its wide enough for the rear brakes to make contact, setting up the bike for a 90 lbs. kid, seen Nashbar has em for 15.00

If you already have the frame and brake, set it up and measure between the pads and if its less than the width of a mammoth rim your in bussiness.

Mammoth is narower than a DX32 by a decent amount. So you might have to use big washers on the V pads to set them in further from the brake arms.

Are you running Vs or Maggies?
If V's, you can most likely make it work, as said above.
With maggies, do what Matt (muddyfox) suggested, and measure the minimum distance between the pads.
