I use both...
When I learnt to pedal kick, I did it on a jump bike (ie. ubergear) so needed to put in an extra half rotation to bring the front end up. Not thinking, I'd start with 'good' foot (left foot) forward, resulting in pedal kicking right-footed. Since then I've been working on stuff left footed, and any new techniques I learn with the left. However I'm still a touch more comfortable right-foot forward for plain old pedal kicking, it feels that little bit more natural.

Being able to use both, however, is damn handy!

Give riding switch a shot next time you're out. That's what it used to feel like for me when I tried to ride like everyone else!

i use both for differnet situations. pedal kick withteh left buyt i lead into things alot with the right.

i actualy do thing in all forms of riding. in turning on my bikes i normally have my inside foot foward.

THey say the side of your choco foot is actually your bad side? LIke for side hops? I am left foot forward and I can go to my left a lot easier than to my right. Can anyone explain that to me? Everytime I try and got right, like pivot the rear end its so much harder, sometimes my right foot comes off the pedal.

you seem to be right, my bad :/

btw how do u learn the back pivots?

Weetbix

Back pivits or back hops?

Something that helped me when I was learning back hops is to get your front wheel on something higher like a curb or a bench and lean back into your balancing point. I found this easier than just pulling up to a hop each time.

But I didn't really get the hang of back hops till I learn't to pedal kick. After that I could back hop lots and lots ;)

well actually i learned the pedal kick, but still can`t do the hops properly, I only manage do to like 5 and then I loose balance.
btw i was asking about the pivots :), but anyway, thanks for the advice

right foot for me, never understood how people would naturally be left footed, still seems very odd to me.

I can do some moves left footed, gap, sidehop, statick hook things, but they are pretty sketchy.

Right foot forward,

i cannot hop left, but i rotate counter clockwise (cause left foot is most rearward?)

i can pivot both directions, but its more effort to pivot right.

who's able to balance better by resting on pedal AND bash for side to side stability? oh yeah - left.

the next question is whether people naturally sidehop to their chocolate side or not.

Ali C

people still go to bash??

I can't do much on a bike with the left foot except half a pedal stroke with the left foot! :rant2:
