So, recently I switched over to flat bars, and I've been having problems with them tearing up my palms (to the point where I can't ride after like 1.5h from them being so sore). I was wondering if I have the angle of the bars set up wrong, I have them basically "pointing" straight up and pulled back a little. Anyone else go through the same thing? They are try-alls btw and yes i do wear gloves.

That's a standard position for flat bars... the thing I have found in the past is that they make my wrists sit in a funny position, putting extra pressure on the outside of my palms... Tilting them back a bit more looks odd but feels more comfortable in my experience.

I have monty flatbars and i like them a lot more than risebars. The echo bars have a backsweep of 9° I believe. Would you like your backsweep slacker or steeper? Salsa makes 31.8 flatbars with 5°,11° or 17° backsweep.

I think you misunderstood, I was wondering what direction I should have the sweep. Since we're on the topic now though, do you know what sweeps of the monty and koxx bars are anyways? They never list them on their websites.

I have no idea what the sweeps are. I believe i read the echo sweep from the echo website a while ago.
I did understand your question though, but since you have the bars in the, for the most of us, best position maybe you would consider a bar with a different sweep. Good thing about salsas is that they are half the price of deng, koxx or monty bars, well at least here in europe. I have no idea however about their strength for trials use.

i went from flat bar to Try-all riser and now back on the flat bar.
I have it the same angle, up and back a tiny bit. I reckon you just have to get used to it.
however, i never really had that problem. hmm

I think it actually might have just been the gloves... I was using some new ones. Today I went on a ride with my old black mechanix and there was no problem at all, of course I was only out for like an hour... we'll see tommorow after I have a good, long ride after my bio exam :D. Thanks for the help!

I find it really weird if the gloves are causing such problems...
Oh well, try tomorrow/today(?) and tell us =)
