Its the same price to get the parts separate though. (actually $1 more)
35.99 for backing
15.99 + 14.00 for coust pad refills
or 65.00 for set.

Those pads look sick in person (or on the internet). Let us know how they work for you.

Can you seriously feel flex in a regular magura lever? You must have a better calibrated finger than I do.

Yeah, I remember riding your bike around when you did the demo here a while back. It really did feel stiffer than the stock magura lever.

Is it the lever itself that flexes less? Somehow, I've gotta think it's the interface to the lever body or the leverage ratio or something.

possibly. whatever it is, it felt much better when I was riding Steidley's bike.
I bought the same lever but decided on trying the Dengura CNC so guess I'm gonna have an extra lever laying around. The lever is beefy!

Yea, when you really pull down hard you can feel the stock magura bend a little. Not much but its there. The echo blade also has a little more surface area which I have found to work a little better.
Take note, when you swap out the lever you may want to file a little off the black part that goes into the master cylinder as it can compress the cylinder in a little. I took off just a smidget as to not pre compress the brake and try to avoid bottoming it out after my pads wear down and I keep adding turns to the adjustment dial.
Hope that helps! Mike

Thanks Mike! I will keep that in mind. I assume you filed off the side that contacts the lever blade, instead of the rounded side.

I have heard the extra leverage gives 7 or 8% more power over stock maggie levers. they do feel nice
Those pads are hot. If only i could justify spending $65 on them.

When you ride a bike with those pads and see how good they are, you wont need any more justification.

John,
The part that you have to file is the part that goes into the master cylander, I think it is round but I dont remember. but you should see what I'm talking about once you put the lever on and hopefully you can make sense of it all. If not send me a PM and i will try to explain a bit more
good luck!

You could PM Eastside too, I know he did some crazy file job to get his working better.

I'm sure I will see what's going on once I get it apart. Thanks!
I justified spending the money because I had a $50 certificate to midwest from the Belle Isle comp.

I suppose the good news would be that you don't have to justify it again, since you've already got the more expensive half of the product.

I love filing new parts! ;)
What I did was I file some material off where the lever reach adjustment is. If you file where the lever comes in contact with the lever body it will allow the lever to "open" up more thus allowing more fluid to be blead into the system. Just make sure you dont mess up the thread's because if you do you wont be able to adjust the reach. The reason I did this is because the pads didn't have enough movement in them and they were constantly rubbing. After I did this all was solved.
The lever blade is a great upgrade!
