older hope trials lever vs 07 lever

any noticable power difference between the 2? do they have a try all version of the 07 lever? i can't find it on their website.

My 07 feels stiffer than my old 05/06... But that is with carbon leverblade. I have never used the 07 with alu. But the power is the same.

I got the 07 Mono trial... found the standard blade shorter and less leverage so I put on an old style blade. works better. the end

I'm not sure HopeUSA knows which lever they're supposed to send out with the trials caliper. I love the Hope products and have been using them for years, but those guys in the USA offices don't know much about what they sell. Case in point...I wanted to order Mono4's from them, but with the Moto levers. They guys told me that "they have a higher leverage ratio and will feel too blocky" (a complete disagreement in terms), "they'll be too powerful" (I haven't had a brake yet that was TOO powerful), and finally that they won't warrantee them or take them back if something happens. The short of it is that the brakes are fine, they work great and feel just like my last set of Mono4's that are now on another bike.

They also told me that the Moto lever will only work on the Moto or trials calipers. Obviously this is not the case. Just to add to it, I've seen the trials brakes come with both the 07 mini lever and the Moto lever, which are supposed to have different sized master pistons. I haven't bothered to take them apart, but I have my doubts.

Anyway, the Moto lever is great if that's what comes with your trials brake, but so is the Mini lever. IMO, they work just the same but the Moto lever takes up more space on the bars, so if you're running a riser bar, take note of where the bar bends or bulges and make sure you'll have enough space for the lever clamp before the bulge/bend.
