Then I realized I was smoking too much. Where the fuck do you live, what is that place- come ride ucla.
Peace its your time to shine....
I forgot my handlebars with levers & grips attached for a comp I flew to half way across australia.

I live in Los Olivos (http://www.google.com/maps?q=Los+Olivos,+CA+93441,+USA&ie=UTF8&ll=34.665582,-120.114856&spn=0.046381,0.080338&z=14&om=1), a tiny town with a few stairs, curbs, 3 doubles, 1 10' drop with a sniper landing. UCLA looks fun. I should go ride there someday.

It truly is. There's really good DH in SB, but that's 40min away.
Left my helmet on the curve after putting my bike back in the car...and I just bought the helmet few weeks before :(

Because SB has the worst traffic in the world. Yeah let's take the 5 lane freeway from LA and turn it into 2 fucking lanes :ugh:

1.5 hour drive straight from work to a city group ride: forgot to pack shorts. I rode the evening in pleated, cuffed business trousers, and if Gee had had one I would have worn a tie to go with. Halfway through the night I caught the pants in the mod's ffw. $ka-ching.

After I put my bike in the car, I leave my wrenches on the roof. Then I hear this horrible scraping/crashing noise the first time accelerating onto the highway as the wrenches slide and fall off.
Every fucking time.

I usually check things at least 5 times. When I'm wearing a backpack I'm constantly checking that the zippers are closed.
Somehow I lost right and left gloves from two different fox pairs. Now, I have 2 different ones that make up my only pair.
edit: One time, when I was kayaking at The Kern River in 9th grade with the kayaking and climbing group, I left my paddle in the shuttle van (because I was helping get kayaks and stuff out) that had just driven down. :ugh: The main outdoor guy drove me down to leave me waiting in the park. He said he was in a good mood, so he let me get my paddle and drove me back up.

Like Kevin, said, I've left my skills at home many, many rides. I just recently left my legs at home on a 60 mile ride with two cat 1 riders. Ow.
I've forgotten pedals and my number plate for BMX races. That sucks. Many clipless shoes have been left at home.

I used to leave all kinds of bike gear...many times I did it...
I got a solution one day.
Now I store my bike and motorcycle helmet, gloves, shin pads and trials shoes in the trunk. Works great. Though the trunk became messy. And the helmets hit the subwoofer constantly

Ahahaha. Once at work i got a huge desire to ride. It was one of those early spring days were you have 2 weeks of shitty weather and then you have a warm, 23° sunny day out of nowhere.
I usually have my bike in the car, so all day long i was thinking "fuck want to get out of here and ride before the sun goes down".
So when it was 5 i quickly walked to my car, all happy ready not even taking a look in the back of the car. I drove to the nearest spot, got out and then i saw that my bike wasnt even in the car. :slap:

Drove 4 Hours to ride a Trail I had never ridden on a single speed with the wrong gearing as well on the way remembered i needed a tube 29er bought it. get to trail head start ride as the rain starts almost to the top nastiest climb (100 yards left) like straight up blow a link in a chain. go to get spare remembered I loaned it to someone. So turn around and freewheel back down the climb get about 1/4 mile to end blow a tire. Man that day stunk. Still have not ridden that trail fully.
