I've got an adamant a3 and was looking at getting some new wheels. has anyone used the monty rear disc hubs on a non monty frame. From what i read on tarty they have different spacing 106mm or something. I'm just wondering how that would work with my frame. would the snail cams take up the extra space?

When I rode mod with Monty spacing I used Threshold tensioners to space the non monty frames. They work alot better than snail cam's.

ya i tried the threshold tensioners on the inside but they didn't work very well with the uneven dropouts of the a3. the drive side one seemed to bend in towards the hub under load :greddy2:

does the monty hub come with snail cams? for that matter does anyone sell them i thought they only come with hubs

If you had probs with the thresholds, then the snails will look like tinfoil.

If you have a deng frame, it has 116 spacing including snail cams. If you have a monty frame than it has 110 spacing including snail cams. The monty rear disc hubs are 110 spacing including snail cams, and the deng hubs 116 spacing including snails...btw. i have a really bad luck with snail cams, so im using bmx tensioners, they work 100x times better. (i have a czar 20" disc mod)

i'm getting some conflicting stories here....i have a deng frame and hub right now, but i was planning to switch to a monty hub. My understanding was that the monty hub was 106 and no snails, so that if i added the snails (or thresholds) it would take up the extra space to fit with a 116 frame. or are the hubs specific to monty frame?

If its a 221 Ti hub then that's correct.

Note that if you put something between the non-drive side end of the axle and the inside of the frame, you'll be strugging to run a rear disc without clumsy washers all over the shop...
