my left hand brake controls the front tire brake. It has an adjustment wheel but I have no instructions on what the adjustment is and which direction does what. Anyone know which direction I need to turn clockwise, counter clockwise for quicker engagement of the front brake? I tried Hope's website but none of their pdf's cover this brake handle.

Yeah the reason I asked is because I was having trouble feeling any affect either way. I've never been a big 'fine tuner' of my bikes, I don't know how someone can lack sensitivity but still ride trials but..... I do. I ended up playing with it and it seems that counter clockwise holds stronger when I try to force roll the front brake with the brakes on. So thats what I'm going with now.

Turn it until you can't turn it anymore. Squeeze. Then turn it in the other direction until you can't turn it anymore. Squeeze.

If you can't tell a difference between those, just ride it:dunno:.

I'm just surprised Hope doesn't have instructions on their web. They have it for every other brake but the moto.

I don't have that brake......but isn't that adjustment on the caliper anyway?

When you adjust it clockwise it will push the lever away from the bars. So that would mean when the brake is locked your finger has to reach out quite far. If you get what i mean. I like mine really close to the bars.

Maguras sort of do the same thing when you adjust the TPA except the lever cant move out so instead the piston is moved in, which adjusts the pad.

Hell I don't know, part of the reason I'm posting is to figure it out. I'll have to check the caliper and see what adjustments are there. I suppose since I didn't get a manual if I really need to know I could email webcyclery who built my bike.

,it's used to adjust the calipers, one way is to set the calipers closer to the disc= if you pull the lever,it wil be further from the handlebar, and you will have more brakepower.

if you turn it the other way,it will be closer to the handlebar, and the brakeower will be less.

hope that helped.;)

Thanks for the response I should have posted that I noticed that while messing with it. I didn't look super hard but I didn't see anything on the caliper itself for an adjustment. It really isn't that bad right now so I'm not worried about it.

I'm confused, are you looking to ajust the lever travel to be closer or farther in regards to brake contact. If so there is an threaded allen head screw that ajusts this. as you turn with allen wrench you will see handle move in and or out. If you talking about something else altogether I apologize hence me being confused:)

I know this was an older post, but am bored and out of control
