:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I would have laughed at Vincent if he hadn't beaten Kenny this time... with his massively exaggerated weight saving methods...

I don't think this was a fair test of true ability with scores that low! I wouldn't read anything into it. Vince won because he can get between sections quicker!?

xdream, all the comps are based on one mistak by any rider, they are all at such a high level...

But for first second and third to be so close! I feel that wasn't a true test to see who is the best rider. Infact the only reason Vincent one is due to a silly rule! Be it the quikest rider to complete the event at the most sections cleaned before dropping a mark. This does not tell us who the best rider is does it?

1, 2nd, 3rd are always that close. Read my post. Whoever is luckiest that day wins.

And what I am saying is why should it be down to luck? Yes sometime we have a bad ride and sometimes a good but at this level two riders shouldn't draw and then the winner is chossen on LUCK!! It's crazy

I think in an instance like this were a draw at such a high level of competition occours they need to ride until a winner is found. Not let luck decide.

I bet Kenny feels well and truley done over. And I know both Vincent and Kenny would rather win through the own hard work and acumplishment than a stupid rule that clintchs it for them. Don't get me wrong they're not about to hand a title back but it's not the way you want to win.

If Vincent can ride the same sections with the same amount of dabs in less time than Kenny, he's a better rider. What's the big deal?

Someone better come out with video of this.

Are you retarded?

KK due to retardation and lack of basic understanding? Luck that vince got through faster in the sections...time has always been a factor, that's why we keep it in competitions- if 2 people have the same score we look at time to see who won. It is the basic rule of trials competition.

:luke:

first of all it´s luck - because it often depends on how many people are in front of you in every section and the order you ride them - sometimes 3 people all need the whole 2 mins - then 3 people all fail the first obstacle....
secondly - this rule is only for non-podium places :hsugh:
thirdly - Vincent won because he was better in quali-rounds
and all in all it was an unfair win, because Kenny got a pedal-hit charged, he didn´t make - scandal!!! he wasn´t the only one who had problems with it: there was an observer who thought, getting with the tire(instead of the hub) over the section mark is 5 (Fontenoy got a 5 this way) - unbelievable that happens at an European Championship

my riding and demo mate Stefan Eberharter made 7 th place in Juniors - but was so unlucky... he thought he was 7th after the first round of the final (truth was, he was 2nd with one point behind Fontenoy) then risked everything and ended up getting 7th - fucking bad kismet :(
he told me, nothing was like watching Gilles - he tapped things with ease that Vince and Kenny had to hook... but, who cares, after all Vincent won, although he didn´t deserve it :(

Congratulations to ogranizer about this event promotion ;-( I didn't know about this competition.lol mmh i hope there were some trialists watching anyway ... taking some photos & making vids !:(

Kenny belaey tells more on his web site ! http://www.belaey-trials.be/ It seems that it is not time which ma;kes the difference, and and least we can say is that he disagrees with the jury...:)
At that time I kept going and didn't realised yet this would make the difference between the first and second place because I had equal points with Vincent H. but because he won the semi-finals I got 2nd. In my head I know I won because I'm still convinced I never touched my pedal but the jury has the last word...

After polish site investigation found some information ...riders only complain that comp was shity organized and judgeing was horrible...not only Kenny got penalty for nothing. Its interesting why Tomasz Kramarczyk - (organizer son) didn't won..LOL he's always the best in Poland and the wrost in the world.

Olso heard that one guy wanted steal Kenny's bike

Luck may be involved, but I personally think it has little to do with competition at this level.

Besides, as someone once said...
The more you practice, the luckier you get.

To the time issue, if two riders get the same score and one is faster, the quickest time shows greater ability and is correctly awarded the win.

Vincent won the title not because of the time.
he was better than kenny in the semifinals.. and so he got the title.

Every year, it is the same thing for the Europeans Championships : one year kenny win, next year vincent etc... :p

Vincent won in 2003 and 2004 (I made an error above) in front of Kenny. And then, it was in Kenny's turn to win, in front of Vincent in 2005, and in 2006 (Kenny one point and Vincent two points).

And now, in 2007, Vincent won! Yes, who is going to win the championship of the World ? That is the question...;)
