Hi, first time poster!

Great forum, lots of useful information!

I used to ride stock mtb trials 10 years ago. I've been riding 20", and am now building up another 26" stock bike.

I saw this chainwheel and guide setup on ebay (whole bike fs), and wanted to know if anyone knew the name of the manufacturer, and/or specs (manu/teeth compatibility) on this setup, as I'd like to get the same.

Also, I see it's setup to run with a derailer. If anyone runs this configuration, what is the max number of cogs I can get away with on the rear cassette? im guessing a full 8 or 9 are out of the question.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone know the compatibility with these, as per my questions above?

Thanks!

it goes on the bb? perhaps it acts as a spacer and the lack of it is amplifying my clearance problems.

there is a bit on the chainstay cut out so that could run. i imagine you would not be able to run it on a normal bike even with the widest bb

Hell yeah! That yoke is notched!

That is totaly funny. Looks factory painted, as well. At least it is a factory hack.

I love the bash.

i wasnt being sarcastic.

i was so distracted by the design of the guides i didnt bother to notice the frame being notched. and if you hadn't mentioned anything id probably have the setup in hand, and be hitting myself in the head with it, because it wouldnt clear the chainstay.

Looks like the factory install was an afterthought. How much material does your yoke have? Got a file? Angle grinder?

Frames are getting pretty cheap these days.

Monty uses an offset BB and notches their yokes. They yoke hasn;t been notched for that chainwheel/guide assy.
