How to get distance doing bunny hop. (note; checked search) I can pull front end up 36" +. Back wheel up 24" to 28". But can only get 12" to 24" forward. (note:speed is a fast jogging pace.

If you are getting that high but only clearing 1-2 feet, that means that you are either going too slow or you are pushing the bike down with your feet immediately.

Also, your wheels should be parallel with the ground at the height of your jump. If your front wheel is staying at 36" but your back wheel reaches a max of 24", then you need to level the bike out more. (try sucking the back of the bike up more)

there are a couple clips of bunnyhops here

Do you have any video of yourself? It would make it easier to tell you what you are doing wrong/what you need to work on.

Thank for reply.Still looking for answer. My wheels are parallel to ground at 24" to 28". It just feels like i am losing momentum in air? I have videos of me hopping, just not able to put on computer. Also how fast is fast? (mph? ) Thanks.

if i bunnyhop as high as i can (about 30-35") on my bmx while going jogging speed i still only travel about two feet while i'm in the air. that is normal.

more distance = more speed. how much speed do you need? why don't you try it and find out? to do any sort of big bunnyhop gap on the bmx i'll be pedalling as fast as i possibly can.

I would say a 24" buny hop at 15-20 mph will go a little longer than a foot or two. Get a pull, you can probably go 40 mph and do really nice bunnyhop. Full speed on your trials bike times 10 would be a good speed.

Thanks. Speed must be the answer ! Will apply, more speed = more distance.

What type of bunny hop are you doing? if you are lifting and landing both wheels at the same time you are really just doing a hop and will struggle for distance. If you are lifting the front first and then the back you should be getting way more distance than you are. Go fast though....

I believe it is call a J-Hop. Lift front wheel first then back wheel.
The 3' to 5' distance is the back wheel. I am clearing objects 16" tall. I am using the video Art of Trials by R. Leech to teach myself.I have yet to meet a trials rider.A friend just bought a Pit Bull Zoo.

quit working on distance, work on height.
