Sidehop/Bunnhop poles, 4'x4'x4' boxes for gap (and one of them elivates for up contest). This event is similar to BikeMove event done at Lake Placid a few years ago (2001 I think)...... look up pics on NATS webpage (natrials.com) under older events. It was a blast.

NUMEN 2007 is only weeks away now!
Qualilfier for bikes begins at 12:30pm (Unis will be at 10am). It will run until we are done! The number of riders will determine how fast the bar/boxes get moved up/over/apart. Each rider will have two shots at each height/length.
If your shop or other sponsors want exposure, this is it! Dirt Rag gets more than a few views to their website (video will be upload as final show comp goes on) and eyeballs in their magazine.

Hey Tim, any word about switching bikes? I can see how switching from mod to stock or stock to mod could help a rider... but what about switching from stock to stock? Do you have to do all four events or can you just pick what ones you want to do? I have to work that day, but I'm going to try to make it...

morning and afternoon qualifiers??
Tim, Is there any specific times that all of this starts in the morning? I'm doing my best to make plans to get up there, however at this point it is still up in the air.

The event is coming up fast and Tim and I are still getting everything dialed in. If you have any questions for Tim, you should email him.
Hope to see everyone out there,

For now, I'd bring both bikes to the comp.Either way, it never hurts to have a back up ride.

Just in case I have not been clear enough, the link above will kinda give visual idea. This was an event called BikeMove put on a number of years ago in Lake Placid, NY. Was waaay fun, thanks to alot of input from Sam Perkins, Pete Wilk, Kevin Brody and a number of others.
We already have a good crew of top Uni riders looking to show up... it is going to be fun!!
Just in case it rains (not real likely that time of year in VT), we will be able to set up under tent.

Hey Sam,
Sorry for long time to answer this one.....gave it long thought (probably over thought about it!). In the end, I don't see any reason why you can't used different bikes for the different skill tests......as long as you use the same bike for that skill if you make it to finals.
Did I mention that Kris Holm/Unicycle.com are pitching some goodies to the uni guys.........score! So if you have a unicycle, bring it along and join in the fest!!

Would have loved to do this event, but its to close to the Worlds, should be done at Christmas when its quiet.

With Motorama gone, middle of winter would be good. However, all depends on the people we get to host with.... and Granny Gear at this point does not have an event in winter.
Unicycle Trials World Champion Ryan Atkins will be in attendance!

Thanks, Tim. I'm pretty sure I'll be stuck at work... but I'll see what I can do.

How did the event go?

Hey,
Just back from VT.....and exhausted.
How did the event go. Well, first off I have to say that behind the scenes was a mess (for mostly non bike related things). I lost a friend of 10+ years and would really just assume have a shitty event than repeat that again.
Having said that, only Joe Janiki showed to do the bike parts. Uni guys produced about 8 or 10 riders. The video came out pretty sweet and is up on Dirt Rag web page now.... I think.... that is to say I think they have links messed up.... will try and get that straightened up tomorrow.
From strictly an event pespective it went off as well as can be expected for a doing something like this for the first time (I know we did BikeMove in Lake Placid before, but Unis through in a whole new dimension). Given the circumstances, I have garnered some good prospects for sponsors for next year to turn it into something much bigger (and not nearly as big of a money loser!).
From an overall view point, I learn more than I needed to know about how things can go frieghtfully awry when communications are not clear from everyone, you throw in a few personal crisis, no sleep and resulting tunnel vision. It sucks.
Next year there will be plenty of lead time to make sure it does not get scheduled for same weekend as NATS event and NUACC (major UNI event). The personal lessons learned will also be taken to heart, to put it mildly.
I have some pics of UNI guys I will post in UNI area of my website. I think I have a few of Joe Janiki as well. Joe was able to score the limelight at the end of the day and I suspect will get some pic coverage at Granny Gear (no small thing when looking for sponsors, given the ammount of traffic Granny Gear website gets).
Well...........too tired to go on....................

Thanks to Tim for hosting and to the uni guys for keeping me company!

Good times....
Wish I could've made it. I'm sorry to hear about your loss Tim. I had a family emergency right after my b-day which was a nightmare. It takes a lot out of you...especially for my g/f & her family who was devastated.
In either case hope to see you at OTN days Tim.
