A lot of the new frames have built in brake boosters, but I'm curious how many of you with older or semi-old frames run boosters? I have an '04 Pitbull with a King hub with funbolts, so it's already pretty stiff. I've had a booster on it forever, just wondering if it's really needed. What do other people without built in boosters run?

i could be wrong, but i think that you need a booster for that frame.

I have a frame with a built-in booster ('07 A1) and I still run a booster. Part of the reason is to help prevent the 4-bolt mounts from stripping. And I like the extra stiffness, and who doesn't like it extra stiff....

I would run a booster even if I had a built in booster. The 4 bolt bolts do a fair amount of flexing.

i just got a Z1 which doesn't have a built in booster and i haven't gotten a booster for it yet. You can see the frame flex pretty good when you squeeze the brakes hard. Not sure if it would be similar to your bike or not.

Same with my A1 with a built in booster, frame flexes quite a bit, so I added a booster. Plus it protects the crossover tube,( HS 33's) from getting kinked!
