What are the differences between the monty 221 Ti and Pr? I love the looks and feel of the Ti, but am a bit reluctant to go rear disc. Also, I only want a frame and don't want to buy new brakes and hubs, so i really want a maggie compatible frame.

I think the Ti involves som titanium parts. Not sure how or where but i´m pretty sure that´s the case. Check out http://www.cleanbikes.co.uk/index.htm
They should know

Yep frames should be almost the same, but Ti has spoke nipples titanium and i don't know exactly what more.:)

Seems like a big price jump just for some titanium nipples! I see the brakes are different too, but I'm only interested in a frame, which appears pretty similar, aside from the brake mounts.

the PR head tube it´s different and one friend of mine from Portugal broke 2 frames in a 2 months...so monty replaced for him, but he hates the frame, he said that PR it´s very weak...i´ll certify with him.

I've been riding the Pr for a while now and it seems to be holding up.

If it's holding up under this man it can't be too weak. THEDMAN is rather a large person if I remember correctly.

I wish I was smaller,I am 6'3",240lbs and the frame has been holding up pretty well. I also ride 99% urban, which does the most damage to any frame.

the cranks on the ti are also nicer the square they are isis, freewheel on the pr is a shimano vs the monty one on the Ti. But thats if you get complete.

I don't like buying complete trials bikes, I just built the frame up myself.

While the geometries of the PR and Ti are nearly identical, that is where the sameness ends. All parts (including frame) are different materials and different weight.

Hey Mike, hows it going?
Nah, Marco is still going strong. But I put a big ding in the down tube on a concrete wall. Its about as thick as a beer can so I'm just looking into the future a bit.
Where you at?

hem...the frame have the same geometry but...

1° the Ti have triple butted tube, the PR NO!

2° Ti have ISIS, PR NO.

3° TI have Nipples in ergal, Titanium SPoke, All screw in titanium and Ergal, PR NO!

4° the tube have different size and form

5° The rim's materials it's different

6° the crank (except for the ISIS mount) it's different

7° The hub is different, materials and weight

8° head tube is different, the headset is different

For me the new PR it's a "shit". 1100€ (about 1400$) for that bike...Old PR is better, low cost (750€), HS33 rear brake (for noob, buy a bike with rear disk isn't a good choice!!!). and the rest of the bike was the same of today's PR!!! (except for the brake...but isn't an exscuse for 350€ money difference!!!)
